The Return of the Mask.

The first 2 weeks
A blog for your campaign

The first two weeks… Well, you were all there. ;)

I’ll be using this space to make provide out of session notes and information between sessions.

As I get better used to using the wiki page I’ll be updating it with information on the history of the game world.

For now I’ll be using this space for most things.

As we head into tomorrow nights game (4/16) here are the things you all know.

It has been 3 weeks since the first outing by Black Justice and the Hedgehog. In that time there has been no mention of either they or the Capacitor in the Enquirer or Post. However, the local Northside Free Press ran a story about the “Ghost Killer” and how he may be involved in the fracas last month at the Cumminsville end of the rail yard. Wayne Garland, an “investigative reporter” (most people consider him a conspiracy nut and crackpot, which is why he doesn’t work for the big papers.) has been nosing around the neighborhood asking a lot of questions of any Taliband member who will talk to him. His latest byline “Ghost Killer or Government Agent?”.

At the Courthouse, neither the Hedgehog nor Justice have seen any more of the mysterious lawyer who the Hog overheard in the bathroom. However a little digging will find 3 potential “Ollies”. Deputy Sheriff Oliver Hopkins, a 24 year old new recruit, he’s currently assigned to a patrol car in the suburbs. Jim Oliver, a 10 year veteran who works at the justice center as a guard. And Randall Olive, a 55 yr old retiree who works 3 days a week in the records division at the courthouse to double dip on his pension.

On the night of the 14th of April, Black Justice will find a note in a familiar hand in her briefcase…..

Another bad night for The Taliband
Northside

Rp<. ecap: Another bad night for the Taliband.

p<. Once again acting on the advice of her mystery informant, Black Justice and the Hedgehog make another foray into the crime ridden neighborhood of Northside. They stop at Junkers to gather some info and some liquid courage.

p<. Meanwhile The Capacitor, unsure about how to proceed in his new life of fighting crime, decides on the classic “patrol the drug ridden neighborhood looking for trouble” strategy made popular by many previous (and some predeceased) masked vigilantes.

p<. And who should he run into but The Ghost Killer, who is in the process of administering a hardcore street justice to an unfortunate mugger. They scuffle, The Capacitor becoming enraged when the Killer tries some of that “cheap Kung Fu shit” on him. Their fight leads then around a corner, into an alley, and smack dab into the Hedghog and Black Justice as they tunnel up next to the address That Justice found in her briefcase, a place they have learned is a safe house for the Taliband. A tense standoff is interrupted by the gang members who have been alerted by the fight between Ghost Killer and Capacitor on their doorstep.

p<. The heroes soon put their differences aside and quickly dispatch the gangstas. Ghost Killer is baffled by the actions of the others and disappears. Justice places a quick call to the city cops and repairs with the Hedgehog and The Capacitor to nearby Spring Grove Cemetery to discuss working together more in the future.p.

p<. Aftermath: A new Super Group? what exactly do Justice, Hog and Cap talk about amongst the headstones of the Queen City’s founders? Will the city cops be successful in prosecuting any of these mopes?

p<. What are your characters short term plans? Lets make use of the “Comments” section of Obsidian Portal to get some discussion going…

Firebugs!
Episode 3

Episode 4 Firebugs!

Episode three opens with a recap of last weeks meeting at Spring Grove Cemetary. There, Black Justice, the Capacitor and the Hedgehog came to a working agreement involving code words and beepers. The Ghost Killer followed Justice and the Hog to the judge’s car, making note of it if he saw it in the neighborhood again.

p<. Which he does a week later! The Judge has found another tipoff from her mysterious informant! This time its merely an address in Northside, and “the roof at midnight”. The Capacitor is notified and the Killer tags along as our heroes investigate a two story working class apartment building in the “nicer” area of Northside. There, on the roof, they surprise a pair of masked criminals in the middle of activating a firebomb! Both groups are confused by the sudden reappearance of their masked counterparts, but quickly remember how knifey-spooney is played, and a fight breaks out.

p<. The villains, calling each other “Blackjack” and “Deadman’s Hand” put up a short fight, but are quickly knocked off the roof by the strength of the Hedgehog. The Ghost Killer, who appears to have been a veteran, indicates that the bomb will probably go off if its messed with, so the heroes do their best to evacuate the buildings inhabitants before it explodes, while Black Justice tries to find a setting on her gun that will allow her to muffle the explosion.

The bomb explodes, the building is engulfed in flames! Our heroes, especially The Capacitor, risk life and limb to rescue the trapped families! The Fire Chief himself arrives and dives into the inferno! There, he briefly meets the Capacitor who notices the chief’s peculiar lack of …flammability…

p<. Who are these masked villians? Who is tipping off Black Justice? How many other potential Heroes are there among the population? Tune in next week to maybe have some of these questions asked again!
